Statesman, diplomat, founding father—Benjamin
Franklin was all of these things, but he was a man of science
first. In The First Scientific American, historian
Joyce E. Chaplin examines Franklin’s scientific achievements
and explores how science became central to public culture
during the years leading up to the American Revolution. Come
learn about another fascinating side of Franklin’s life
during the tercentennial celebration of his birth.
