When did human
language emerge? When and why did
we start wearing clothing? How did
our ancestors defeat the more physically
powerful Neanderthals? New York
Times science journalist Nicholas
Wade tackles these and other fascinating
questions in Before the Dawn,
a new book that synthesizes recent
findings in genetics and other fields
to tell the story of our ancient
ancestors and the evolution of human
nature.
