Protein Expression Facility
Instrumentation
Rooms G68, G70 and G72 are equipped
for cell culture and molecular
biology with:
- 2 class II Type A laminar flow hoods,
- Zeiss Axiovert 10 phase contrast microscope
and light microscope with incident light source for baculovirus
plaque detection,
- 2 VWR 27 cu. ft. low temperature (27°C)
incubator for insect cell large-scale spinner cultures,
- 2 refrigerators and 2 -20°C freezers,
- 2 dual-chamber CO2 incubators,
- Low speed bench-top centrifuge and microcentrifuge,
- OmniGene thermal cycler for PCR,
- Rocker platform and orbital shaker,
- Innova 4000 bench-top incubator shaker,
- Agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis
equipment for analysis of nucleic acid and protein,
- Balances, pH meter, water baths, microwave
oven, and Milli-Q water system.
- Other shared equipment includes floor
orbital 31-37°C incubator shaker, high-speed (Sorval and Beckman)
and ultracentrifuges (Beckman), storage freezers (-40°C and
-70°C).
