NIH Chemistry-Biology Interface Fellowship Application Material

First or second year students who are matriculating at the University of Pennsylvania and who are or will be working with one of the CBI participating faculty should submit the following information:

1. A letter from the advisor, nominating the candidate and describing the thesis project and its appropriateness for CBI support.

2. Active and pending grant support for the advisor.

3. Past and present training record of advisor (list of all pre-docs for the past 10 years, training period, current source of support if still in the lab and current position if no longer in the lab).

4. A letter from trainee stating his/her interest in working on the project, interest in work at the chemistry-biology interface and describing his/her qualifications for CBI support.

5. The applicants CV and list of publications.

6. Three letters of recommendation for the applicant.

7. Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores of the applicant.

8. Undergraduate transcripts, and graduate school transcripts of the applicant.

9. Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence status.

Open competition for these fellowships will be announced annually by July 15 th, with applications due by August 10 th to the CBI Training Committee, c/o Cheryl McFadden, Room 314B, The Wistar Institute, Philadelphia, PA 19104 or send a single PDF file to mcfadden@wistar.org (letters of recommendation can be e-mail separately). Awardees will be notified by September 1 st.
