The Wistar Genomics and Microarray Facility serves
as a hub for consultation and scientific interactions relating to
nucleic-acid based methods and provides expertise and support to
insure the best possible use of the emerging nucleic-acid technologies.
In addition to consultation
and collaboration with associated Wistar scientists,
the facility provides the following products
and services to the greater scientific community.
- Our nylon filter
microarrays
(available
arrays, discontinued
arrays) carrying up to 10,000 cDNAs from human, mouse, or
yeast clones are made using a Biorobotics arrayer, in the core
facility. Custom arrays can be produced at the request of investigator.
Click
here for Clone Lists (human, mouse, and yeast arrays).
- Gene
expression analysis using microarrays including every step
from RNA amplification and labeling through hybridization and
image quantitation.
- DNA
sequencing of plasmid DNA is performed on ABI3100 sequencer.
- Array Bioinofrmatics (Statistical
analysis and interpretation of analyzed arrays.
- Protocols for RNA Extraction, DNAse Treatment of RNA, Labeling RNA Targets, Washing Filters, and mRNA Amplification.
*The establishment
of this facility was supported in part by an NIH Cancer Core Grant
and equipment grants from the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania, The
Pew Charitable Trusts and the National Cancer Institute.
