Monday, May 3, 2010 marks the 15th consecutive year that we have gathered at Green Valley Country Club to honor the memory and legacy of Albert R. Taxin, a beloved Philadelphian who died in 1993 of a brain tumor.
The tradition of the Albert R. Taxin Golf and Bridge Classic remains a wonderful opportunity to get together and remember Albert, but at the heart of the event is raising important funds for brain tumor research.
Thanks to the generosity and support of our past sponsors, progress has been made in better understanding the scientific challenges brain tumors create. But the job is not done until a cure is found. Last year in the U.S. alone, there were an estimated 22,000 new cases and nearly 13,000 deaths from brain and other nervous system cancers.
Please be our partner in the discovery of a cure by participating in this year’s Golf and Bridge Classic. There are several ways in which you can support this event – even if you do not golf or play bridge. As in years past, the proceeds will directly support brain tumor research at The Wistar Institute’s Albert R. Taxin Brain Tumor Research Center.
Signing up is easy, just fill out and return the registration form to guarantee your participation. Click here to read and fill the registration form.
We hope you choose to make a difference in research efforts to cure those affected by brain tumors.
For more information about how to sign up, please contact Elyse Hoffmann at 215/898-3955 or ehoffmann@wistar.org.
