Save the Date for the 2010 Albert R. Taxin Golf Classic:
Monday, May 3, 2010 at Green Valley Country Club, Lafayette Hill

2009 marked the 14th Annual Albert R. Taxin Golf Classic, and this year's event included our second American Contract Bridge League-sanctioned duplicate bridge tournament. The Classic has provided more than $1.3 million for brain tumor research at The Wistar Institute, home of the Albert R. Taxin Brain Tumor Research Center. The Center is named in honor of the Philadelphia restaurateur and former president of Old Original Bookbinders restaurant who died of an inoperable brain tumor in 1993. The Center and Golf Classic were founded by Albert’s widow, Doris Taxin, our honorary co-chair. Her continuing good work and the work of our current tournament co-chair Fran Tobin continue to provide resources for making progress in curing brain tumors through biomedical research at The Institute. |
