Programs
The three distinct yet complementary research programs at The Wistar Institute are the Gene Expression and Regulation Program, the
Oncogenesis Program, and the Molecular and Cellular Immunology Program.
Gene Expression and Regulation
Aim: To explore cancer and other diseases at the level of individual genes and gene systems, including investigations of the molecular mechanisms of gene regulation.
Immunology
Aim: To investigate immune-system responses to cancer and other diseases, with major efforts directed toward the development of vaccines and immunotherapies.
Molecular and Cellular Oncogenesis
Aim: To understand cell signaling in tumorigenesis, metastasis and cell differentiation and to use biological and systems biological approaches to develop new strategies for cancer diagnosis and therapy.
